Skies expected to clear up in time for tonight's fireworks
In hours, the sky over the Detroit River will be filled with streaks of speeding light and exploding bursts of color.
The Target Fireworks are to begin at 10:06 p.m, emanating from a barge in the middle of the river.
From vantage points at Hart Plaza, the RiverWalk and parks and rooftops throughout downtown Detroit, the fireworks are the culmination of the 4-day GM River Days, an international extravaganza celebrated on both sides of the Detroit River in Detroit and Windsor.
Goodbye rain, hello boom
Forecasts from the National Weather Service at White Lake Township and AccuWeather.com agree: The clouds, showers, and thunderstorms will likely rule the day with high temperatures in the mid-70s.
